In September of 2023 Williams introduced be introducing the Bring Your Own Device Program for all students where students are expected to bring their own primary devices to school each day.
What is the Bring Your Own Device Program?
- The Bring Your Own Device Program is an approach to education that revolves around improving student learning and engagement with the integration of technology into daily school life.
- Students enhance their critical thinking skills as creators with technology rather than passive consumers of technology.
- Dr. G. W. Williams students participating in the Bring Your Own Device program are required to have access to a primary device for education purposes. Students take ownership of their device and are not required to share with others.
- Students who cannot afford a primary device or have extenuating circumstances will work with their Vice Principal to have a long-term loan Chromebook assigned to them.

In the fall and spring there is usually an opportunity for families in need of financial support to purchase refurbished technology. More information will be provided to families in the fall and spring.
